The Diaspora Women for Change( DWC) is a women’s group that consist of mostly a diverse body of Liberian women. The primary purpose of the group is to bring awareness to violence against women and children , categorical denounce violence against women and children and to subsequently provide psychosocial and legal support to victims of abuse in Liberia and the Diaspora.
- Currently, DWC have daily discussions of the challenges that women and children face secondary to abuse and brainstorm ways to address these challenges via DWC social media group. We also held at least a monthly teleconference.
- Most recently, DWC was involved with denouncing the practice of revenged porn in Liberia; We contacted and financially donated to , Meekee Sirleaf, a victim of revenges porn to provide emotional support; We also reached out to Christine Dennis who sustained life time injuries resulting from her husband brutally assaulting her. DWC helped publicize the Go Fund me page established for Christine to assist her with her medical bill. https://www.gofundme.com/christine-rm-dennis
- DWC also brought awareness to the violent rape and robbing of a Liberia woman in Queens, New York, who was on her way home from church.
- DWC would like to thank all of the parties involved with seeking Justice for Christine, Meekee, Regina, and women and children who are victims of violence in Liberia. We will continue to bring awareness to violence against women and children. We are confident that Regina will be found and Justice will prevail the victims.
